The role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join our Humanities department on a part-time basis (0.5 FTE). The successful candidate will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 students up to GCSE level. No previous teaching experience is required.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons that develop students’ knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for geography.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and assessment.
- Support student progress within the department.
Requirements
- A strong interest in geography with relevant academic qualifications (degree or equivalent) in Geography or a related subject.
- Ability to plan and deliver lessons tailored to Key Stage 4 learners.
- Good communication skills with both students and colleagues.
- Willingness to learn new teaching methods and participate in professional development.
- Basic understanding of classroom management techniques.
- Enthusiasm for working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued.
- Patience, empathy and approachability when supporting student needs.
- A positive attitude towards teamwork within the Humanities department.
