The role


St Albans High School for Girls seeks an enthusiastic Teacher of Science to deliver creative and exciting lessons across one, two or three sciences. The sciences and key stages taught will be determined by the skills of the successful candidate. This fixed-term position, lasting two or three terms, is offered on a full-time or part-time basis with a start date of September 2026. The role may suit a recent graduate interested in pursuing a career in education. A highly competitive salary is offered, dependent on skills and experience.


Key responsibilities



  • Deliver creative and exciting lessons to inspire students across the sciences.

  • Stretch and challenge the most able pupils, including those with ambitions to study at leading universities including Oxbridge or to pursue further study in the life sciences, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine or Dentistry.

  • Follow schemes of work and deliver impactful lessons.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and throughout the school.
