The role

Brick Lane School seeks a passionate, creative and nurturing SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team in Tower Hamlets. The role offers a salary of up to £51,000 per annum depending on experience. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm. This is a permanent, term-time only contract commencing November 2026. UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons that inspire learning and support pupils to reach their full potential.
  • Create and review Individual Education Plans, Individual Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
  • Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
  • Create a nurturing, structured and inclusive classroom where pupils feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed.
  • Promote pupils' emotional wellbeing, resilience, independence and positive behaviour through relationship-based practice.
  • Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver consistent, holistic support.
  • Organise stimulating learning environments, resources and sensory experiences that encourage curiosity and engagement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, supporting curriculum development and continuous school improvement.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status is essential.
  • Primary teaching qualification or degree is essential.
  • Experience in EYFS and multi-sensory approaches to teaching is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN, SEMH or complex needs is desirable.
  • A creative, adaptable and nurturing teacher who can personalise learning to meet individual needs.
  • A calm, patient and resilient professional who builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
