Edintervention is an established group which includes an Ofsted-registered Independent Specialist SEND School and a Specialist SEND Post-16 College. The organisation provides a wide range of therapeutic and alternative education services to young people across the Greater Manchester area.
The role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate PE Teacher to join our specialist SEMH/SEND school. This full-time, permanent position begins on 1 September 2026 or earlier if available. You will deliver high-quality KS4 Physical Education, promoting physical literacy, health, wellbeing and lifelong participation in physical activity. Working closely with the Head of School and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will help embed the therapeutic ethos, relational practice and commitment to inclusive, aspirational education for every learner.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, well-sequenced Physical Education lessons that inspire confidence, participation and enjoyment in physical activity.
- Personalise learning to meet the needs of pupils with SEND/SEMH, ensuring progress from each learner's starting point.
- Promote outstanding safeguarding, behaviour, health and wellbeing through consistent relational practice.
- Use assessment, data and evidence-informed strategies to monitor progress, develop physical competence and support personal development.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, families, external agencies and colleagues.
- Contribute to a curriculum that is ambitious, accessible and responsive to the needs of learners, promoting healthy lifestyles, resilience and inclusive participation in sport and physical activity.
Requirements
- Experience in specialist SEMH/therapeutic settings, alternative provision, or SEND experience from a mainstream setting.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Alignment with the organisation's values and a passion for inclusion, together with the belief that every learner can thrive with the right support.

- Salary of Β£32,000 to Β£51,000 in line with MPS, plus a performance-related bonus of up to an additional month's salary.
