The Role
Nestled along the stunning Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is internationally recognized as a leader in Hahnian education. Our school motto 'Plus Est En Vous' – "There is more in you", can be seen every day with challenge and compassion at the heart of all that we do. Our co-educational community of around 500 pupils, aged 4 to 18, brings together a diverse mix of day and boarding students from over 40 countries, who all live and learn together. At the heart of our school is the Prep School, a warm and dynamic environment where children aged 4-13 thrive. With approximately 120 pupils, a quarter of whom are boarders, the Prep School offers an exciting range of academic, sporting, and extracurricular opportunities, supported by world-class facilities for sports, performing arts, outdoor learning, and more.
We're Looking for a Resident Boarding Assistant Who Is Ready to Make an Impact
As a Resident Boarding Assistant, you'll have the chance to actively engage in school life, whether that's in the classroom, outdoors, or by the sea. You'll work alongside a dedicated boarding team, ensuring that every pupil is not only safe and well-cared for but also challenged to reach their full potential, both academically and personally. This is a role that combines care, support, and learning, offering you a unique opportunity to positively influence young lives in a close-knit, dynamic environment.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a candidate who has some experience working with children in a supportive or educational role. A background in coaching sports such as rugby, hockey, football or tennis would be a great advantage. Above all, we're looking for someone who embodies a positive, proactive attitude and shares our belief in the school's motto, "Plus Est En Vous". Many of our past Resident Boarding Assistants have gone on to pursue teaching degrees, PGDEs, and pastoral careers, making this a fantastic stepping stone for your future.

Getting to Gordonstoun is straightforward, it's about an hour's flight from London to Inverness Airport. From Inverness, the school is around 45 minutes by car or taxi. Alternatively, you can take a train to Elgin (via Inverness or Aberdeen), with Elgin being just a short drive from Gordonstoun. Car hire or local taxis are readily available to complete the journey.
