Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 per year based on 40 hours per week

This school supports pupils aged 6-11 with communication difficulties linked to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will be delivering high quality teaching and learning. Although it is a primary school, many of the students are working at least 2 academic years behind their chronological age. Knowledge of teaching KS1 and early KS2 is desirable.

Opportunity

We are currently looking to recruit a teacher to join our expanding team and work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to aid the smooth running of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new school that will grow with you. All of our education is through play based learning that will always be guided by and built around each individual and their strengths, challenges, and interests, combining elements of different approaches and frameworks as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and develop curriculum plans that meet students' educational, physical, and social needs.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets.
  • Assess, track, and report student progress to stakeholders in line with school policies.
  • Create structured, engaging lessons with clear objectives and challenge.
  • Contribute to reviews of Statements, EHC plans, PEPs, and LAC meetings.
  • Stay informed on autism-related developments to support effective teaching.
  • Work positively and non-confrontationally to meet individual needs.

Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the school when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent (QTS essential)
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH and PDA profile
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge.
