School Staffing Solutions are recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant for a SEN school in Bromsgrove. This OUTSTANDING School has two locations and it is the Bromsgrove Site where this role is based. This site caters to students aged 14 -19 with special educational needs, primarily related to Autism. The school provides a safe, low-sensory environment alongside an ambitious curriculum that includes a range of GCSEs and enrichment opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
- Help manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
- Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks.
- Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
- Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment.
Requirements:
- Relevant education or training; willingness to undertake further professional development.
- Experience supporting pupils in an educational or care setting.
- 2 years experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs.
- Awareness of safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND principles.
- Ability to support teaching and learning effectively under supervision.
- Commitment to professional conduct and safeguarding as per the Staff Code of Conduct.
- Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
