Location: The Bridge Academy, Laburnum Street, London, E2 8BA

Contract Type: Part time, Permanent

Hours of Work: Shift times are scheduled between 4:45 pm and 10:30 pm Monday to Friday, and between 7:45 am and 10:30 pm on Saturdays or Sundays (shifts will be a maximum of 8 hours). This is a casual (Zero‑Hours) position.

Pay: £12.75 per hour

About Us: School Space aims to create thriving schools at the heart of thriving communities. We partner with schools to rent out their facilities to the community. The income generated is used by the schools to improve the educational experience and facilities for their students, while building stronger connections with the surrounding community. Our operation covers over 50 schools and we are always seeking like-minded people to join our team of 100+ part-time Community Connectors. These team members open and close our schools while ensuring customers receive great service and have all the help they need during bookings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open and close an assigned school/s in the evenings and weekends – you will be a key holder for the school and must remain on site throughout customer bookings.
  • Carry out checks as necessary and perform light cleaning/tidying after bookings.
  • Set up and clear away tables and chairs (e.g., during exam periods) so that events can run in bare spaces or meet other requirements (training provided).
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate what’s happening at schools to the operations team.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Offered exceptional customer service in previous roles.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, organization, and punctuality – ensuring bookings run smoothly.
  • Provided feedback on what works and what does not, acting as the in‑door voice for the school.
  • Committed to a social or community cause – our team is dedicated to making the world a better place.

As this role involves working in schools, employment is dependent on a clear Enhanced DBS check that we will run.

Training and Support:

You will receive a full training programme to get you up and running at the school, followed by regular sessions with team leaders, operations managers and the wider School Space team.
