Position Overview

As a Social Care Worker, you’ll provide essential support to adults in their homes and communities. You’ll assist with personal care, mobility, meal preparation, and social outings, helping clients maintain daily living skills and maximize independence. This role requires flexibility, empathy, and a valid UK or international driver’s licence with access to a vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including washing, dressing, bathing, and toileting
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding
  • Support mobility and transportation needs
  • Escort clients during social outings and appointments
  • Deliver care to adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental health conditions
  • Maintain accurate records and follow care plans
  • Work on a flexible rota including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Morning shifts: approx. 6am–3pm; Evening shifts: approx. 3pm–10/11pm
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health & safety standards

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a healthcare or social care setting
  • Valid UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle with Class 1 business insurance
    • Alternatively, a full licence from country of origin + international driving permit
  • Willingness to acquire a vehicle within 3 weeks of job offer (if applicable)
  • Ability to work flexible hours on a 7-day rota
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Satisfactory DBS check and two references required prior to employment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with autism, dementia, or learning disabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • IT literacy for documentation and communication
