Receptionist (Bank/Relief) – NHS Scotland | Dundee | £25,694–£27,900 per annum (Band 2)
NHS Scotland is seeking an experienced and flexible Receptionist to join its bank/relief team in Dundee. This Band 2 role offers variable shift coverage on an “as and when required” basis, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. The position is ideal for candidates with strong IT and administrative skills who are committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Role Overview
The Receptionist will provide front-line administrative support across various shifts, ensuring smooth operations during staff absences. The role involves handling patient queries, managing appointments, and maintaining accurate records using NHS systems. Initial training will be provided over a 4-week period (Monday to Friday, 12:00–20:00).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide reception cover across multiple shifts
- Handle patient check-ins and queries professionally

- Ensure compliance with NHS standards and protocols
- Uphold confidentiality and patient dignity at all times
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong IT and communication skills
- Previous experience in administrative or receptionist roles
- Flexible and committed approach to shift work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to complete mandatory induction standards
- Compliance with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland
- Experience with NHS systems, including Trakcare
- Familiarity with healthcare environments
