Walker Morris LLP, a leading law firm, is recruiting a Legal Secretary to join its Planning Team in Leeds. This varied role offers exposure to all aspects of the team’s work, supporting solicitors and fee-earners across the full lifecycle of legal matters. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations, compliance, and client service while working within a supportive Secretary Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Matter Management: Set up matters, manage compliance processes, and support fee-earners throughout the file lifecycle.
- Task Coordination: Use task management system to assist with overflow work and PA tasks.
- Billing & Accounts: Handle month-end billing, manage accounts via Aderant, process payments, and create invoices.
- Document Management: Prepare and organise legal bundles for contentious matters, ensuring accuracy and logical order.
- Team Support: Collaborate with colleagues, contribute ideas to improve efficiency, and support planning team initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience

- Previous experience in an administrative or secretarial role within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
