Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking enthusiastic and dynamic Healthcare Assistants to join its expanding ambulatory integrated clinic service. This role offers the opportunity to provide holistic care to patients across citywide clinic locations, with tailored induction, ongoing development, and flexible working options.
Location: Leeds, LS6 1SG (citywide clinic locations)
Salary: £24,937–£26,598 per annum (Agenda for Change, Band 3)
Contract Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Hours: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday (options: 08:00–16:00 or 10:00–18:00, minimum 3 days per week)
Department: Ambulatory Integrated Clinic Service

Role Overview: Healthcare Assistants will provide clinical treatment and holistic care to ambulatory patients referred from primary care and neighbourhood teams. The role requires resilience, motivation, and adaptability, with a passion for wound care and patient-centred support. Staff will work independently in clinic settings, with access to registered clinicians for advice via MS Teams or phone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide wound care, catheter care, and injections within scope of practice
- Manage patients in clinic settings, following health and safety and risk assessments
- Carry out moving and handling techniques when required
- Complete statutory, mandatory, and in-service training
- Attend clinical supervision regularly
- Manage clinic diaries and provide advice to patients, carers, and administration staff
- Promote patient self-management where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with citywide services (Falls, Continence, Urology, Colorectal Care, Palliative and End of Life Care, and GP services)
