Role Overview
The Care Assistant will work under the supervision of the Matron/Manager to meet the personal care needs of residents, promote independence, and support daily routines. The role involves both physical and emotional care, as well as light housekeeping duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, and toileting
- Support mobility and use of personal equipment
- Provide care for residents who are unwell or receiving palliative care
- Promote mental and physical activity through conversation and recreational activities
- Make and change beds, tidy rooms, and perform light cleaning
- Serve meals, assist with feeding, and clean dining areas
- Respond to emergency calls and welcome visitors
- Maintain accurate records and participate in meetings and training
- Report significant changes in residents’ health or circumstances
- Encourage independence and uphold residents’ dignity
