Job Summary
Housekeeping Assistants play an integral role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home. Working as part of a small domestic team, you will ensure residents live in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean all areas of the care home to a high standard in line with schedules and guidelines
- Respect confidentiality of residents’ personal information, ensuring dignity and privacy
- Comply with statutory and legal requirements (Health & Safety, COSHH, Health & Social Care Act)
- Maintain awareness of infection control practices
- Ensure equipment is in safe working order and report faults promptly
- Check and maintain housekeeping supplies, reporting shortages to management
- Spot clean spillages immediately and use initiative to maintain cleanliness
- Actively contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and a supportive work environment
