Role Summary
As a Helpline Services Worker, you’ll manage inbound calls, emails, and live chats from individuals experiencing mental health concerns. You’ll provide calm, empathetic support and signpost users to appropriate services, ensuring every interaction meets high standards of care and compliance.
This role requires emotional resilience, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound queries via phone, email, and live chat
- Deliver empathetic, professional support across multiple channels
- Signpost users to relevant mental health services and resources
- Maintain accurate records in the CRM system
- Ensure compliance with data protection and client protocols
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high customer satisfaction
- Contribute to continuous service improvement
- Complete all required training modules (online and in‑person)
Candidate Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- 12+ months experience supporting individuals with mental health concerns
- Previous work in a healthcare, crisis, or mental health setting
- Experience in a busy contact centre environment
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport quickly in remote settings
- Emotional resilience and a calm, confident approach
- IT literacy and familiarity with MS Office and CRM systems
- Strong decision‑making and complaint resolution skills
- Ability to plan and coordinate your workload independently
