Role Summary:
This is a hands-on opportunity to join a leading research centre within Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care. As a Data Collection and Processing Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting medical research studies that directly influence NHS treatment decisions. You’ll be part of a collaborative administrative team that values training, development, and precision in data handling.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking entry into clinical research administration, with a focus on data integrity, patient follow-up, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate data entry for clinical research projects
- Conduct follow-up data collection via telephone with study participants
- Manage incoming and outgoing post related to research documentation
- Assist with missing data checks and quality assurance tasks
- Review study documents and liaise with hospital staff to resolve data queries
- Maintain confidentiality and data security in line with the Data Protection Act
- Keep detailed records and manage filing systems to support audit readiness
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths and English
- Demonstrated experience using IT systems, including databases, Microsoft Office, email, and internet tools
- Proven data entry experience with a high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational and teamwork skills
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Confidence handling telephone and email enquiries professionally
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Previous experience working in a call centre or similar environment
