Coleg Gwent is seeking an Additional Support Assistant to help learners with additional learning needs access the curriculum. This part‑time, fixed‑term role involves supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in groups, including providing personal care when required. The position requires availability between 9:00 am – 4:30 pm and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in learners’ lives.
The Additional Support Assistant will work closely with curriculum and campus support teams to ensure learners with difficulties and/or disabilities reach their full potential. The role involves both individual and group support, requiring compassion, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Support learners with additional learning needs on a 1:1 basis and in groups

Essential
- Previous experience working with young people with difficulties and/or disabilities
- Educated to Level 2 standard with four GCSEs (including Maths and English at grade C or above)
- Ability to work compassionately and effectively with learners
- Availability between 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
Desirable
- Experience supporting learners with complex needs in an educational setting
- £15.22 per hour
- Minimum 10 hours per week, flexible within 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Fixed‑term contract until 3 July 2026
