Key Responsibilities
As a care assistant, you'll provide essential care and support in clients' homes, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect. Your tasks will include:
- Assisting with personal care, such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
- Supporting clients with mobility and ensuring safety during transfers.
- Preparing meals and assisting with feeding, if required.
- Administering or prompting medication based on the care plan.
- Offering companionship and emotional support.
- Performing light household tasks for a clean and comfortable environment.
- Keeping accurate care records and reporting changes in clients' conditions.
- Working collaboratively with families and other care professionals.
Requirements
Must Have:
- At least 1 year of care-at-home experience in the UK.
- A valid driving license and access to a car.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and professional attitude.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Right to work in the UK.
- SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to obtain it).
- Experience with eMAR (electronic medication administration records) systems.
- Knowledge of Scottish regulatory requirements for care at home.
