Purpose of the Role
Join the vibrant Groom Room team at Pets at Home in Telford as an Assistant Stylist, where you’ll help deliver top-tier grooming services and pet care. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about animals and eager to grow in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare dogs for grooming using safe handling techniques
- Assist with clipping, bathing, and pre-grooming procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service and pet care advice
- Maintain salon cleanliness and safety standards
- Work flexibly to support busy periods, holidays, and absences
- Participate in training and development programs, including “Earn As You Learn”
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Preferred:
- Experience handling dogs in a professional grooming or pet care setting
- Background in customer-facing roles
- Familiarity with target-driven environments
Required:
- Passion for pets and delivering great service
- Flexibility to work varied shifts across the week
- Willingness to complete a minimum of 1,000 hours of training to become a Stylist
- 28 days paid leave, rising to 33 after 2 years
