A new opportunity has arisen working for Building Spatial Intelligence as a Trainee BIM Technician. This role involves supporting the development and maintenance of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes. As a trainee BIM technician, you will assist in creating both 2D drawings and 3D models.
This position offers hands-on training and opportunities to develop skills in BIM software (e.g. Revit), collaboration tools, and construction documentation. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in construction technology and a background in 3D design (which could include gaming, animation, or similar fields), along with a willingness to learn and apply their skills in a fast-paced environment.
The role will be mainly office-based, but there may be a requirement to travel to sites around the country to aid in training and to gain the necessary knowledge to do the job.
Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the Product Development Technician, the role is to provide detailed drawings of buildings based on supplied site data. No prior experience is required as comprehensive training will be given, only experience of CAD is required.
Upon completion of training, the day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Accessing and interpreting the supplied site data.
- Creating detailed CAD Drawings and Building Information Models.
- Collaborating with project teams to ensure accuracy and data integration.
- Maintaining organised project files and documentation.
- Participating in training sessions to improve technical skills and BIM knowledge.
- Meeting internal and customer deadlines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent spatial awareness.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
