This temporary part-time (80% FTE) maternity cover post is in the Department of Psychology. The role involves overall oversight of the Welsh language activity on the CAL:ON project, primarily covering work packages 2 and 3. The post holder will commence September 2026 and work until 31/03/2027, based at Bangor campus with optional remote work.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Devises and develops Welsh‑medium materials and programmes for the CAL:ON project, specifically the NELI programme and the Read to Learn programme.
- Draft progress updates for project leads or funders.
- Coordinate with other team members, especially Welsh‑medium staff, to plan and progress Welsh materials and trials.
- Draft academic reports and outputs such as ethics proposals, academic papers, government reports, where required.
- Gather and analyse data if required; deliver research outcomes.
- Administer the research project on occasion.
- Advise and collaborate with Masters and PhD students, contribute to the undergraduate programme, actively participate in college activities, establish internal or external collaborative groups, seek external funding, and manage projects.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in performance reviews and developmental activities.
- Comply with university equality policies, Dignity at Work and Study Policy, and the Welsh Language Scheme.
- Ensure health, safety, and well‑being duties, and comply with relevant policies and procedures.
- Adhere to legal and financial policies and be aware of post responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- PhD in Psychology, or near completion of PhD, or suitable teaching experience in education.
- Experience working on similar projects.

- Quantitative analysis and research methods skills.
- Track record of publications in quality journals.
- Track record of conference presentations.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills, ability to analyse numerical data and present results appropriately.
