Responsibilities

  • Work with NHS and university colleagues to deliver the School’s practice‑learning strategy and meet HCPC requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality learning environments that maximise a positive student experience and support graduate recruitment.
  • Act as a resource of information, evidence and advice on practice learning and mentoring for clinical and university staff.
  • Support students in practice, helping them integrate theory and practice through activities such as student forums.
  • Co‑ordinate with BCUHB professionals, radiology managers and university staff on placement issues, fitness to practice and placement selection.
  • Monitor and support assessors/supervisors, providing innovative strategies to develop and evaluate the practice learning environment.
  • Liaise with managers, practice placement staff and other facilitators to promote high‑quality learning experiences.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new placement‑learning models and to performance review and developmental activities.
  • Maintain assessor/supervisor database, monitor competency returns and lead on completion of returns.

Qualifications

  • Degree in radiography or Diploma from the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic).
  • Registration with HCPC, holding a recent post‑qualification in radiography.
  • Experience supporting radiography students in practice.
  • Experience teaching and/or facilitation of learning in practice.
  • Knowledge of relevant HCPC frameworks, standards and SoR/CoR guidance.

Desirable

  • Higher education teaching qualification completed or near completion.
  • Ability to communicate in Welsh (the ability to speak Welsh is desirable; support for learning Welsh is provided).

Additional Information

  • Grade: 7 – Salary: £38,249 – £45,413 p.a. (per annum).
  • Permanent full‑time appointment located on campus at Bangor or Wrexham.
  • Flexible working: option to spend some time working remotely within the UK; part‑time or job‑share arrangements may be considered.
  • Closing date: 10 June 2026.
  • This role requires a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.
