Applications are invited for this part time post (0.5) with Learn Welsh - North West, Bangor University. This post will be available until 31 March 2027 in the first instance. The duties will include supporting the staff of Ysgol y Gogarth (ALN school) to learn Welsh and to gain confidence in the Welsh language, and enable them to be confident to teach through the medium of Welsh. Candidates should be educated to degree standard (or equivalent) and have extensive teaching experience. The successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible after 13 April 2026. Applications from individuals who wish to be seconded will be considered. Ability to communicate in Welsh is essential for this post. This post is subject to a satisfactory standard Disclosure & Barring Service check. This post is located in Ysgol Tywyn.

Responsibilities:

  • Cefnogi staff Ysgol y Gogarth (ysgol ADY) i ddysgu Cymraeg ac i fagu hyder yn y Gymraeg a’u galluogi i fod yn hyderus i ddysgu trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.
  • Cefnogi’r ysgol i gynllunio a mapio cynnydd sgiliau iaith y staff ar draws yr ystod lefelau Dysgu Cymraeg, a hynny dros gyfnod amser penodol.
  • Darparu gwasanaeth a gorchmynion ymgeisio ac ystodion nodi lefelau iaith; asesu lefelau iaith cychwynnol staff (os oes angen) a thracio eu cynnydd ieithyddol.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Asesu lefelau iaith cychwynnol staff (os oes angen) a thracio eu cynnydd ieithyddol.
  • Darparu gwersi Dysgu Cymraeg priodol ac addas ar gyfer unigolion, grwpiau bach a dosbarthiadau yn unol â’r galw.
  • Darparu rôl mentor iaith, drwy ddarparu cyngor i athrawon a staff ar eu defnydd o’r Gymraeg wrth eu gwaith.
  • Dod i gytundeb gyda’r ysgol ar amserlen resymol sy’n caniatáu staff i ymrwymo i wersi.
  • Disgwylir i ddeiliad y swydd gwblhau Cymhwyster Dechrau Dysgu: Tystysgrif Lefel 4 CBAC i diwtoriaid (os nad ydynt eisoes wedi’i gwblhau).
