Applications are invited for a part‑time (21.75 hours per week), permanent Doctoral Training Programme Officer working in the Doctoral Academy based in the Research Office at Bangor University.
Postholder Responsibilities
- Provide support across the Doctoral Academy remit with a core focus on the training needs of the Post‑graduate Research community.
- Be responsible for the successful co‑ordination and central administration of all Doctoral Training Programmes in Bangor University and the training needs of the PGR community as required.
- Provide dedicated support for the Celtic Crescent Creative Economy an AHRC Doctoral Focal Award (DFA).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Researcher & PGR Development Manager and the Researcher & PGR Development Officer to ensure coordinated central support for all Doctoral Training Programmes.
- Work closely with the lead academic for the Celtic Crescent Creative Economy DFA, coordinating the project management within Bangor and with external universities and non‑HE partners.
- Act as the central point for all Professional Services supporting our PGR community.
- Work with the Doctoral community within Bangor University to identify specific training needs and to ensure that these are addressed via Bangor University’s Doctoral Academy Training Programmes.
- Lead on the collation, analysis and reporting of PGR data for external funder monitoring requirements for all of Bangor’s Doctoral Training Programmes.
- Administer the collection and reporting of training needs analyses across all the Doctoral Training Programmes in Bangor.
- Liaison with external organisations as required in relation to the Doctoral Training Programmes.
- Undertake administrative responsibilities in the team as appropriate.
- Work in the team managing the Doctoral Academy web pages and social media presence.
- Provide training for PGRs as appropriate, and academics applying for Doctoral Programme funding.
- Promote the Doctoral Academy and PGR opportunities within and beyond Bangor University.
- Provide administrative support to the relevant committees and team meetings.
- To be an active member of the Research Directorate, undertaking other duties and working collaboratively across the Directorate as required.

- The post holder will be expected to participate in performance review and developmental activities.
