About School of Coding & AI

School of Coding & AI is one of the UK's fastest growing education providers, delivering high quality, career focused programmes across Business, Coding, Computer Science & AI, STEM, Health and Social Care. We work with schools and universities to provide education that leads to real outcomes. Our focus is simple, student first, always.

As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our people function to support a larger, more structured and high performing organisation.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to strengthen the way School of Coding & AI supports, develops and manages its people as the organisation continues to grow. This role will focus on putting the right foundations in place across HR. You will review how things currently work, identify where greater structure or consistency is needed, and develop practical processes that help managers lead their teams more effectively. This will include key areas such as employee relations, policies and procedures, learning and development, performance reviews, succession planning, employee engagement and people reporting.

You will be a trusted point of contact for managers, providing clear advice on day to day people matters while helping to build longer term initiatives that improve capability, accountability and culture across the organisation. This would suit someone who enjoys making HR work properly in a growing environment. You will need to be comfortable balancing operational HR support with improvement projects, and confident turning ideas into simple, usable processes that make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop, implement and maintain clear HR policies, processes and procedures across the employee lifecycle, ensuring they are practical, legally compliant and easy for managers to follow.
  • Create consistency across key people processes including onboarding, probation, absence management, performance, conduct, capability and offboarding.
  • Provide clear and practical advice to managers on employee relations matters, including absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance and capability cases.
  • Coach managers to handle people issues confidently, fairly and consistently, while supporting the organisation in reducing people related risk.
  • Review current HR practices, identify areas for improvement and support the development of templates, guidance notes and manager toolkits.
  • Support the development of a structured learning and development approach, including induction, management training and ongoing employee development.
  • Work with managers to identify skills gaps, training needs and development opportunities across departments.
  • Develop and embed a consistent performance appraisal process that supports clear objectives, meaningful feedback and stronger performance conversations.
  • Use appraisal outcomes and people data to identify development needs, succession risks, capability gaps and future workforce requirements.
  • Support succession planning across key roles and departments, helping to identify high potential employees and future leadership capability.
  • Contribute to people and culture initiatives that improve engagement, communication, accountability and employee experience.
  • Promote a culture of fairness, inclusion and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • Oversee day to day HR administration, ensuring employee records are accurate, compliant and up to date.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, pre employment checks, audits, inspections and internal reporting where required.
  • Monitor HR data and provide reports on key people metrics to support better decision making.
