About the Role:
We are seeking an Automation Trainer & Curriculum Lead to take a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Automation and AI professionals. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and designing outstanding learning experiences. Your focus will be on leading curriculum development, delivering high-quality training, and setting standards for technical excellence across the School of Automation and the ABP Group. This is a people-focused role where your ability to guide, coach, and inspire learners will be just as important as your automation development skills.
What you will be doing:
- Curriculum Leadership
- Lead the design, development, and ongoing improvement of structured training pathways in Automation and emerging AI technologies.
- Ensure curricula remain aligned with industry standards, vendor best practices, and evolving client demand.
- Work directly with UiPath and IBM through our training partnerships, leveraging their official content, assets, and guidance to enhance the quality and relevance of our learning programmes.
- Maintain a broad and forward-looking programme that spans end to end automation, AI-assisted automation, agentic automation, and related areas.
- Training Delivery
- Deliver engaging, interactive, and supportive online training sessions, with occasional in-person delivery as required by clients.
- Facilitate hands-on labs, practical exercises, and challenging real-world automation scenarios.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where learners feel supported and motivated.
- Collaboration & Content Excellence
- Work collaboratively with our internal training team, Head of Technology, and CTO to build best-in-class training solutions.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and high standards across all teaching materials and delivery methods.
- Contribute to developing ABP’s training strategy and evolving our methodologies to stay ahead of industry developments.
- Mentorship & Technical Coaching
- Provide ongoing technical mentorship to external learners and internal junior developers across the ABP Group.
- Coach junior colleagues on coding standards, automation best practice, troubleshooting, and project delivery.
- Identify skill gaps and support targeted development plans to help colleagues progress.
- Learning Materials & LMS Ownership
- Create and maintain high-quality learning materials, including presentations, documentation, code samples, assessments, and practical exercises.
- Own and optimise the learner experience on the LMS, ensuring intuitive pathways, clear structure, and consistent content quality.
- Play a central role in defining and maintaining training standards across the School.
- Assessment & Student Support
- Develop rigorous assessments that measure learner competence and readiness for employment or project work.
- Provide constructive, empathetic feedback to help learners strengthen their skills.
- Offer technical support and guidance during and after training, ensuring learners succeed in completing projects or assignments.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior Automation Developer with strong practical exposure to automation principles.
- Solid experience with UiPath (preferred) and familiarity with other platforms such as Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, or IBM.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, C#, Java, etc.).
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently to learners with varying technical backgrounds.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- High standards of quality, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Vendor certifications, particularly UiPath Advanced Professional Developer.
- Experience delivering technical training or mentoring developers.
- Experience designing digital learning content or managing an LMS.
