About Us: ABP School of Automation is a specialist training provider in AI and Automation, delivering career pathway, reskilling, and upskilling programmes. We use a unique methodology for selecting, training, and mentoring talent, empowering learners to build meaningful, sustainable careers in an industry undergoing rapid transformation. As part of the wider ABP Group, we work closely with industry partners such as UiPath and IBM, ensuring our learners have access to the latest tools, practices, and training content across Intelligent Automation and emerging AI technologies.

About the Role: We are seeking an Automation Trainer & Curriculum Lead to take a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of Automation and AI professionals. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and designing outstanding learning experiences. Your focus will be on leading curriculum development, delivering high-quality training, and setting standards for technical excellence across the School of Automation and the ABP Group. This is a people-focused role where your ability to guide, coach, and inspire learners will be just as important as your automation development skills.

What you will be doing:

  • Curriculum Leadership - Lead the design, development, and ongoing improvement of structured training pathways in Automation and emerging AI technologies. Ensure curricula remain aligned with industry standards, vendor best practices, and evolving client demand. Work directly with UiPath and IBM through our training partnerships, leveraging their official content, assets, and guidance to enhance the quality and relevance of our learning programmes. Maintain a broad and forward-looking programme that spans end to end automation, AI-assisted automation, agentic automation, and related areas.
  • Training Delivery - Deliver engaging, interactive, and supportive online training sessions, with occasional in-person delivery as required by clients. Facilitate hands-on labs, practical exercises, and challenging real-world automation scenarios. Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where learners feel supported and motivated.
  • Collaboration & Content Excellence - Work collaboratively with our internal training team, Head of Technology, and CTO to build best-in-class training solutions. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and high standards across all teaching materials and delivery methods. Contribute to developing ABP’s training strategy and evolving our methodologies to stay ahead of industry developments.
  • Mentorship & Technical Coaching - Provide ongoing technical mentorship to external learners and internal junior developers across the ABP Group. Coach junior colleagues on coding standards, automation best practice, troubleshooting, and project delivery. Identify skill gaps and support targeted development plans to help colleagues progress.
  • Learning Materials & LMS Ownership - Create and maintain high-quality learning materials, including presentations, documentation, code samples, assessments, and practical exercises. Own and optimise the learner experience on the LMS, ensuring intuitive pathways, clear structure, and consistent content quality. Play a central role in defining and maintaining training standards across the School.
  • Assessment & Student Support - Develop rigorous assessments that measure learner competence and readiness for employment or project work. Provide constructive, empathetic feedback to help learners strengthen their skills. Offer technical support and guidance during and after training, ensuring learners succeed in completing projects or assignments.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior Automation Developer with strong practical exposure to automation principles.
  • Solid experience with UiPath (preferred) and familiarity with other platforms such as Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, or IBM.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, C#, Java, etc.).
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently to learners with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of quality, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Vendor certifications, particularly UiPath Advanced Professional Developer.
  • Experience delivering technical training or mentoring developers.
  • Experience designing digital learning content or managing an LMS.

Nice to Have:

  • Patient, empathetic, and learner-focused.
  • Collaborative and a strong team player.
  • Passionate about helping others grow.
  • Able to set and uphold high technical standards.
  • Adaptable, forward-thinking, and curious about emerging AI trends.

What we offer:

  • Predominantly remote role.
  • Occasional travel (around once per month) to meet with the team in London or Glasgow.
  • In-person client delivery may be required from time to time.

We know great people don’t always tick every box. If you believe you could thrive in this role, we encourage you to apply.
