ABOUT US /MŌ MĀTOU

Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is seeking a proactive and organisedTeam Administrator to join our Corporate Services Division. This is a permanent,full-time role based in Christchurch.

THE ROLE /TE MAHI

This role supports the Corporate Services Team. Reporting to the Administration Manager and working closely with a small team,this role is for an administrator who is able to juggle multiple priorities aswe have a lot going on and it’s not for the faint hearted!! This role isresponsible for the administrative support and co-ordination which may include(but not limited to the following):

  • Firstpoint of call for all visitors
  • Co-ordinationof meetings/conferences
  • Purchaseorder management
  • Supportingthe Property & Asset Team
  • Phoneand email system management
  • Co-ordinationand distribution of couriers and mail
  • Attendingto or assisting with the operational requirements of the organisation

Our ideal candidate will be a proactive, positive andresults-oriented person able to deliver a high level of administration support.You will needstrong organisational skills, have a knack for numbers, beable to work your way around spreadsheets while maintaining a positive attitudeand you will have a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic organisation.

You will be experienced in developing collaborativerelationships with a broad range of people.If required, we will supportyou to develop an awareness of Deaf Culture and the Deaf community. Proficiencyin New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) is preferred, however, if you don’t havethis a willingness to learn NZSL is essential.

YOU WILL HAVE / KEI A KOE

  • Provenexperience in a similar coordination and administration role;
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools, with aptitude tolearn new software and systems;
  • Soundplanning and organisational skills with attention to detail and followthrough to achieve the final outcome;
  • Anapproachable and inclusive demeanour;
  • Theability to understand the demands of a fast-paced and changingorganisation and able to jump in and help the wider team as and whenrequired;
  • Strongunderstanding of communicator requirements in a diverse organisation;and
  • Provenability to liaise and maintain relationships with a wide range of internaland external stakeholders.
