Resource Teacher of the Deaf - Oamaru

• We are seeking an engaging, innovative teacher who has strong communication skills and is a collaborative team player as these skills will be needed in all you do.
• You will be required to work in mainstream schools and other specialist schools to work closely with DHH students, whānau and school staff/teams. This is a permanent, 0.8FTE role.
• Engaging within your assigned caseload with related record keeping and liaison with families and whanau to assist with student participation and success in their education and life outcomes.
• Proven best practice and experience working with Deaf children and/or working with mainstream children.
• Qualified Teacher of the Deaf or an experienced NZ registered teacher.
• Use of own car with mileage reimbursed (with conditions).
• You will have existing skills, or demonstrate a willingness to develop proficiency, in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and listening and spoken language practices for DHH learners.
• Recent practical experience working with the early levels of the New Zealand Curriculum.
