Role Overview
We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team and make a difference in children's lives every single day. Working in partnership with school staff, you will deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families. Your focus will include improving attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for children and their families.
- Support children to improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.
- Build and maintain excellent relationship‑building and communication skills with a wide group of people.
- Collaborate with school staff to provide holistic family support.
- Implement safeguarding processes and referral routes for children.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working in an education setting or similar to improve a child’s school attendance and engagement in learning.
- Experience engaging with parents/carers, children or individuals through individual and/or group‑based support.
- Understanding of factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn.
- Experience working with families from diverse communities.
- Experience in holistic family support.
- Knowledge of safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children.
