The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a Limited Term Contract 1.0 FTE Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher at Northside/Coulee Montessori Elementary School for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year.
Projected Start Date: February 4, 2026.
Salary/Wage: Per negotiated contract.
Terms/Schedule: Limited Term Contract 2025/2026 SY.
Appointment Type: Temporary.
Qualifications:
- Wisconsin certification 1801 and/or 1810, 1811, or 1830 is required; multiple certifications are preferred.
- Experience with autism and EBD programming is preferred.
- Special concentration in Learning Disabilities and/or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities.
- Experience and demonstrated skills in assessing, instructing, and programming for LD and EBD students.
- Experience working with a team of regular and special educators to meet student needs.
- Experience with developing behaviour intervention plans.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of assistive and adaptive technology to support student independence.
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR and First Aid.
Position Responsibilities:
- Instruction of students with learning disabilities and emotional behavioural disabilities including team teaching.
- Management of all aspects of student program including functional behaviour assessment, behaviour plans, academic assessments, writing and implementing integrated IEPs, effectively consulting with staff and parents.
- Ability to work as part of the IEP team to appropriately place students and monitor their progress.
- Successful completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen is required before employment.
