Description
The School District of La Crosse is accepting applications for a 0.781 FTE (6.25 hours per day) School Nutrition Employee/Cook at Northside Elementary/Coulee Montessori beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Projected start date: August 14, 2025
Position Responsibilities
Serve as cashier on line using automated Skyward program, general food preparation, serving and clean-up, work in storeroom and clean equipment. Must be able to operate all equipment in kitchen and practice work simplification techniques and work independently. Will be reaching, carrying, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting and handling items weighing up to 40 pounds when performing duties. Will be standing and walking. Other duties may be assigned.
Hours may be reduced or increased if participation is different from what is anticipated.

Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Level 1 certification by the American School Food Service Association is required within 18 months of employment date. Maintaining certification is the responsibility of the School Nutrition Employee.
Physical Requirements Of The Position
- Will be reaching, carrying, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, lifting, and handling items weighing up to 40 pounds when performing duties.
- Will be standing and walking most of the day.
- Successful completion of a mandatory Job Specific Screen is required before employment.
