About the Role:
Are you a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with experience in the education sector and a strong interest in finance systems?
As a Senior Finance Consultant , you will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic financial advice and guidance to our clients, helping schools and academies thrive. You will work independently across a variety of educational settings, providing tailored solutions to meet diverse needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading strategic financial planning and advising on resource optimization.
- Preparing short, medium, and long-term financial plans, statutory returns, and annual budgets.
- Delivering insightful financial reporting, including management accounts, to key stakeholders.
- Supporting procurement, risk management, and compliance with educational finance regulations.
- Training school leaders on financial processes, systems, and effective management practices.
- Keeping abreast of education sector trends and ensuring clients remain compliant with changes in legislation.
- Building strong relationships with clients and providing ongoing support to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.

About You:
We are looking for an experienced finance professional with a passion for education and a commitment to delivering excellence. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, and management.
- An in-depth understanding of the education sector, including maintained schools, academies, and free schools.
- Proficiency in finance systems (e.g., IRIS Financials, Sage, FMS, Arbor Finance, Access, Xero, Bromcom) – training can be provided.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in an accessible way to diverse audiences.
- A proactive, adaptable approach to working across varied settings and challenges.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and build trusted relationships with clients.
Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related field, alongside a commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD), are essential.
