We are seeking to hire an exceptional Compliance Officer to join our London office. This role will report into the Director of Compliance, based in Dubai, and hold several responsibilities for the EMEA region in the Global markets advisory space, and the Compliance department. This position requires a focus on high levels of service and technical expertise. It requires a blend of regulatory, investment and markets compliance knowledge and expertise, coupled with outstanding collaboration qualities. This role necessitates a flexibility to also support the wider compliance department with activities outside of the listed responsibilities.

What you'll do

  • Providing compliance advice and training to the EMEA investment personnel on their activities; including managing the flow of live trading queries and responding in a timely risk-based fashion.
  • Lead Control Room activity in the EMEA region, including wall crosses, market soundings, MNPI and confidential information control, as well as related policy and procedure development.
  • Engage in the review of, and input into the approval for new investment instruments, products, strategies, technology, models, trading venues, and trading activities in the EMEA region.
  • Act as compliance SME as needed for relevant business change initiatives in the EMEA region.
  • Act as first line response for exchange and regulator queries related to EMEA market activity.
  • Support and preparation of relevant business coverage for formal examinations.
  • Track and lead regulatory change initiatives connected to relevant market structure and investment related regulatory change in the EMEA region.
  • Support the wider Global Markets Advisory team and Compliance department as needed.

What you'll bring

  • 7 years' relevant experience.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and attentive to detail.
  • Strong technical knowledge covering market structure and related regulations in EMEA region.
  • Structured, methodical and consistent in execution.
  • Adaptable and open to change, a natural problem solver and lateral thinker.
  • Comfortable with technology, systems and process orientated.
  • Calm and concise communicator, collaborative and able to engage well with staff of varying roles and seniority.
  • Firm and team first in thinking.
  • Experience in maintaining control room restrictions and approving various deals for multiple investment teams.
  • Prior experience operating in the Compliance front office investment advisory capacity.
  • Experience of adopting workflow management toolkits and new technologies.
  • Project management skills, and experience working with Confluence, JIRA and various AI models.
  • A strong Compliance network in London/Dubai.
  • Familiarity with the multi-manager hedge fund model.
