We are seeking a highly exceptional individual to join our team as a software engineering summer intern on our DMFI Technology team in our London office. The DMFI Technology team equips DMFI's (Discretionary Macro and Fixed Income) investment teams with fit-for-purpose solutions including live and historical market data pipelines, delivery of quant analytics, and self-serve P&L/risk access across Excel, APIs, and web. In short, we deliver the data, tools, and infrastructure that turn investment ideas into informed, alpha-generating trades.
As an intern you will work alongside senior developers on the DMFI Technology team to build software that integrates with our analytics library and powers both live and historical market-data pipelines—tools that enable Portfolio Managers to make informed investment decisions. For example:
- Work with live ticking market data from multiple providers and make it available to users within milliseconds
- Build efficient time-series historical datasets for rapid trading analysis
- Enhance every stage of the data lifecycle—ingest ➜ clean ➜ store ➜ analyse ➜ deliver
- Contribute to P&L and risk data pipelines that give PMs real-time and historical visibility into their exposures
- Own a summer-long analytics project that will be deployed to production and used by the business
Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in a quantitative or technical field such as mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, or finance (ideally with one year left in your academic program).
Proficiency in Python; familiarity with Java is a plus.
Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Exposure to real-time data-streaming technologies is advantageous.
Interest or coursework in capital markets / finance.
Over the course of 10 action-packed weeks, you will have the opportunity to build solutions that tackle real-world challenges and leave a lasting impact on the firm. As an intern, you'll join a close-knit team that is ready to support your growth and accelerate your career. We will pair you with a dedicated manager and a mentor who'll guide your development over the course of the internship and beyond. Throughout the program, you will have the chance to connect with senior leaders through a series of learning sessions, attend hands-on skills workshops, network at social events and get a behind-the-scenes look at how various functions power the firm. We'll empower you to bring your ideas to life and make an impact.
