Scholastic is the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books, working with thousands of schools in the UK and Ireland every year to inspire children to read for pleasure through its Book Fairs and Book Clubs programmes. Scholastic provides trusted resources and support to teachers through its Educational publishing arm and is also the home to children's authors and illustrators including Philip Pullman, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler and series including The Hunger Games, Captain Underpants and Horrible Histories.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the smooth running of the accounts payable ledger.
- Liaise internally throughout all departments within the business to manage supplier accounts.
- Maintain regular contact with external suppliers and reconcile supplier statements.
- Log and process supplier invoices and match them against purchase orders.
- Attend weekly/monthly meetings to assist in departmental projects and undertake ad hoc work related to the accounts payable function.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent communicator (verbal and written) with strong customer service and people skills.
- Excellent numeracy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with NetSuite would be an advantage but is not compulsory.
- Organised and able to make decisions and solve problems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work productively in a sometimes pressured environment with tight deadlines; analytical thinker who can get to the heart of complex issues and deliver solutions.
