Scholar Green Primary and Nursery School is a vibrant and inclusive maintained Nursery School, committed to providing the highest standards of early years education. The Governors of Scholar Green Primary are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our experienced and supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high-quality early years education in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Create a warm, stimulating, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and nurtured.
  • Contribute to planning, observations, and assessments to support children\’s learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
  • Promote children\’s welfare, safeguarding, and well-being at all times.

Hours

The position is 39 hours per week as follows:

  • Monday and Tuesday – 8.30am to 4.30pm
  • Wednesday to Friday – 8.30am to 5:00pm
  • Half an hour lunch each day
  • Term Time Only (38 weeks per year)
  • Please note that during the working hours of 3pm to 4:30pm / 5:00pm, duties will be carried out within our wraparound care provision.

Qualifications

  • Holds a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Holds a relevant qualification in Pediatric First Aid.
  • Has experience working with children aged 2-5 years in an early years setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has a sound understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Maintains a high standard of professionalism at all times.
  • Is passionate, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Is enthusiastic, flexible, and a great team player.
