We are your Energy Technology Partner, driving efficiency and sustainability through electrification, automation, and digitalization across industries.
Location & Reporting: Based in Sevilla, Spain (option available for the UK) and reporting to the Europe POST Manager. Interaction with repair activities in Riga and Bangalore and expert centres in UK and China.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead customer product field failure investigations and perform root cause analysis to component level using 8D methodology.
- Provide Technical Expert Assessment reports (TEX) in 8D format.
- Identify patterns or hardware design weaknesses, propose solutions in collaboration with global hardware design teams, L3 technical support, and quality teams to confirm root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Offer technical support to production and repair activities when hardware failure trends are identified.
- Support global R&D with component obsolescence work, alternative component selection, and test planning.
- Assist in addressing hardware design issues during verification, validation, and EMC testing of new and existing designs.
- Build knowledge of Schneider Electric distribution automation products and provide high-quality technical support to all business areas, continuously improving customer satisfaction and product quality.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (analog and digital).
- Minimum two years of product hardware development experience, preferably in protective relays, RTUs, modular products involving protection, control, measurement, communication protocols, EMC design, and test.
- Proficient in the complete hardware development lifecycle, including identification of design weaknesses, design for manufacturing and test, and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience with 8D problem-solving process and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis.
- Strong teamwork in a multi-site development environment.
- Knowledge of protection & control products (focus on distribution automation ranges).
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation for internal and external distribution.
