Schneider Electric is looking for an experienced Electrical Safety Trainer to join our Safety Academy team in Telford. This role sits within an established, high performing training team. You will deliver operational electrical safety training to both external customers and internal engineers, helping shape safe working practices across the power and utilities sector.
If you are an experienced electrical engineer from a distribution or DNO background and want to move into a more office based role with reduced travel, this position offers a clear transition path.
What you will be doing:
- You will deliver high and low voltage operational safety courses from entry level access through to Senior Authorised Person level.
- Your time will be split between classroom delivery and practical sessions within our purpose built demonstration centre in Telford.
- Around 10 percent of your time will involve travel to UK and Ireland customer sites.
- Assess delegate competence and provide recommendations for authorisation.
- Produce professional reports on performance and suitability.
- Develop and update course materials.
- Support the development of new training packages.
- Contribute to maintaining high safety standards across all sessions.
What we are looking for:
- You must bring strong electrical engineering experience. Technical credibility is critical in this role.
- Background in electrical distribution, DNO or similar operational power environments.
- Experience working with high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Technical electrical qualifications or apprenticeship.
- Strong understanding of UK electrical safety legislation.
- Confidence presenting to groups and communicating technical topics clearly.
- Teaching qualifications are not essential. We can support development in training delivery. The priority is deep technical capability and practical experience.
- You must hold a full UK driving licence due to occasional customer site delivery.
