Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance on switchgear, transformers and related equipment within the voltage range of 400V to 33k V.
- Conduct testing of associated protection devices.
- Perform site risk assessments and assist in producing method statements.
- Document test results and produce site work reports.
- Contribute to the formulation of offers for site activities.
- Assist with works tests when necessary.
- Contribute to customer training activities.
- Promote the company's service activities and pursue business opportunities.
- Participate in the on‑call rota system.
- Proactively identify and communicate onsite opportunities for additional services, upgrades or solutions that enhance customer operations and align with Schneider Electric offerings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience installing, commissioning and maintaining switchgear.
- Experience working independently and as part of a team at UK, overseas and offshore sites.
- Full UK driving licence and passport.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Solid grounding in shop‑floor assembly and test techniques.
- Solid grounding in electrical safety principles and the application of safety practices related to live high‑voltage networks.
- Demonstrable underpinning knowledge through academic qualifications (e. g., ONC) or relevant experience.
