Overview
Safety and Environment Field Specialist – Location: United Kingdom. This is a field-based role with frequent travel, working closely with operational teams, contractors, and customers to promote safe working practices and environmental responsibility.
What you will do
- Carry out site and contractor audits across the UK, advising teams on compliance with legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
- Support field teams in improving working conditions on customer sites, providing guidance and practical solutions.
- Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver health, safety and environmental training, and support the completion of risk assessments, method statements, and POWRAs.
- Drive continuous improvement of safety behaviours and environmental risk awareness across field operations.
- Oversee contractor registration, approval, and requalification processes via Avetta.
- Ensure the full implementation and continual improvement of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.
- Support internal and external H&S office audits as required.
What we’re looking for
- Previous work experience in a field-based health and safety role.
- NEBOSH qualification (mandatory).
- IEMA environmental awareness (advantageous).
- Lead auditor certification (nice to have).
- Strong auditing, compliance monitoring, and risk assessment skills.
- Full driving licence (company van provided).
- Flexibility to travel across the UK, typically four days per week, often same-day travel.
This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who thrives in the field and wants to make a measurable impact on site safety and environmental standards. You’ll be part of a supportive team, reporting to our UKI zone Safety & Environment Country Operations Manager.
