Mission

Schneider Electric is seeking a skilled and motivated Application Design Engineer to join our team in Leeds.

This role focuses on the design and application engineering of our 11k V Genie-EVO switchgear, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, collaborating with customers, and supporting project delivery from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and develop application-specific solutions using 11k V Genie-EVO switchgear.
  • Create and manage 2D e PLAN drawings, including 3D layout elements.
  • Lead and participate in technical design meetings with customers.
  • Ensure all designs comply with ENA Wiring Standards and customer specifications.
  • Program and configuration protection relays.
  • Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with procurement needs.
  • Generate and manage technical documentation, including design reports and relay configuration files.
  • Support hybrid project delivery, working both remotely and on-site as required.
  • Complete engineering drawings and wiring diagrams (core deliverables).
  • Full design package for Genie-EVO switchgear applications (core deliverables).
  • Verified e PLAN drawings (core deliverables).
  • Configured protection relay files and supporting documentation (core deliverables).
  • Accurate and complete BOMs (core deliverables).
  • Clear and concise technical interface documentation (core deliverables).

Skills & Attributes

  • Proven experience in application or electrical design engineering.
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD, e PLAN or similar.
  • Experience with switchgear.
  • Strong understanding of medium voltage switchgear and protection relay programming.
  • Familiarity with ENA standards and customer-specific wiring requirements.
  • Knowledge of UK utility standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and technical discussions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a hybrid work environment.

Education

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

This role will be posted until filled.

For this UK based position, the expected pay range is GBP 46,400 - GBP 69,600 per year.

This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United Kingdom.

Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
