Job Description
Purpose of this position: To drive effective and efficient legal work globally by ensuring the optimal use of resources to proactively identify legal risks, provide scaled legal advice and contracting, and implement or supplement processes and tools, including AI and other technologies.
Working Relationships: Reports to: Chief Business Legal Officer
Headcount currently in direct reporting line: 12
Peer Relationships: Digital team and governance digital deployment team, direct reports to the Chief Business Legal Officer and other members of the Governance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Suggest innovative ways of driving the department forward through processes (e.g., status tracking, legal hold processes, compliance coordination, payment workflows), technology (e.g., matter management/billing system, contract management, AI tools), and information (e.g., training, knowledge management platforms).
- Serve as Business legalβs primary liaison with Digital and the Digital governance team to assess, choose, deploy, and maintain appropriate information systems, programs, and tools to support knowledge management. Develop and implement dashboards and reporting to enhance information sharing and decision-making.
- Create a roadmap for cost-effective rollout of tools and processes across legal to increase productivity, standardization, and reduce risk.
- Create and manage a global operations team from existing resources, addressing skills or geographical gaps to ensure full global coverage.
- Create and maintain knowledge management and training systems across a highly distributed and diverse landscape.
- Ensure the creation and use of standardized templates, FAQs, and training materials, and maintain their effectiveness.
- Help manage budgets, including internal headcount and external spend.
