As the SERE Manager at Schneider Electric's Oxford manufacturing facility, you will lead efforts to ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations at the federal, state, and company levels. This role supports all operational areas, including engineering, manufacturing, and non-manufacturing and partners with cross-functional teams to develop and sustain programs that foster a strong, proactive safety culture.

What will you do in this position?

  • Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and foster a strong safety culture within the Oxford facility.
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures to address compliance risks and enhance overall safety performance.
  • Train and support employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards and non-compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with union workforce to address safety concerns and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Build and sustain open communication with union representatives to resolve safety-related issues effectively.
  • Partner with union teams to implement joint safety initiatives, including training and committee participation.
  • Provide technical guidance to management and lead the site safety committee.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and recommend enhancements to safety practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between the safety department and union teams to ensure alignment and collaboration.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Minimum six years of experience in environmental, health, and safety roles within manufacturing.
  • Strong background in electrical safety, machine guarding, ergonomics, and employee training.
  • Proven success in implementing safety programs and improving compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, health, and safety management or a related field is required.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and Ohio-specific safety regulations.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills across all organizational levels.
  • Experience working in unionized environments and with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Skilled in data analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Detail-oriented with strong recordkeeping and reporting capabilities.
  • Familiar with Lean and 5S principles and their application in safety practices.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
  • Willing to travel to other company sites and attend training as needed.
