Location - Leeds

What do you get to do in this position?


The Calibration engineers primarily responsibility is to carry out calibration procedures on controlled / test equipment and maintain the system around this.
As a Calibration Engineer, you should be able to review and conduct basic repairs of equipment. Moreover, you should also be able to maintain a record of daily operations. In addition to this, you should also be able to prepare calibration certificates and data reports.
To be able to perform in this job role, you should have excellent mechanical/ electrical and technical skills. Also, you should be familiar with inspection and testing equipment and tools. Your strong analytical and troubleshooting skills will be an added advantage.

What are your key responsibilities in the role?

Preforming Calibration tests and certifying equipment
Performing thorough equipment inspections
Testing repaired equipment for quality standards
Owning and running the calibration process using the CMMS to ensure all site calibrated equipment is compliant to site calibration requirements.
Scheduling appointments for equipment maintenance and servicing and calibration with third party vendors where needed.
Addressing and troubleshooting any production queries and equipment failures
Managing equipment repairs via external support
Developing supplier performance
Analyzing and suggesting equipment upgrades
Maintaining and updating a record of all daily operations
Ensuring a complete stock of calibration equipment and supplies
Maintaining documentation of the calibration process
Maintain defined KPI’s (OTD, Preventative V Reactive Maintenance, Budgets)
Assisting in preparing calibration certificates and data reports

This role might be for you if?

Apprenticeship, or a related field experience
Certificate in one/two of the following
Engineering Maintenance/ Instrumentation & Control; Calibration; Electrical and Electronic Principles; PLC Principles
Proven work experience as a Calibration Technician or a similar role in the Engineering department
Complete understanding of Calibration procedures and testing techniques
Familiarity with electrical inspection, testing equipment and quality control tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent mechanical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
A team player as well as the ability to work independently
Having an eye for detail
Flexibility in order to deliver excellent customer service
