You will join an energetic team to support the commercial success of the organisation by combining strategic thinking with practical business skills. As a Level 6 Commercial Apprentice, you will learn to analyse market trends, manage commercial risks, and contribute to profitable decision-making. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage documentation, helping maintain organised, accurate contract files and commercial records.
  • Assist in contract management, including updating information, supporting contract lifecycle activities, and ensuring compliance.
  • Help develop and maintain supplier relationships, contributing to long-term partnership building.
  • Support risk management processes, working with internal teams to identify and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Apply problem-solving and communication skills to help resolve day-to-day commercial challenges.
  • Develop commercial knowledge through training and hands-on experience to inform effective decision-making.
  • Participate in sustainability-focused and operational improvement projects, contributing to Schneider’s wider goals.

Training:

During your apprenticeship, you will receive two different types of training. On-the-job training will be delivered by Schneider Electric, as your employer. You’ll receive training and supervision to help you perform the job you’ve been hired to do. This will include skills and knowledge that fall outside of the apprenticeship but are needed for the job role. As well as providing on-the-job training, it is important that we support you in additional ways to ensure your success. Types of support will include:

  • A comprehensive induction
  • Mentoring or regular one-to-one guidance
  • Social enrichment and networking opportunities
  • Performance reviews
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Feedback opportunities

Off-the-job training is delivered by one of our carefully selected Training Providers during your normal working hours. You will spend at least 20% (average 6 hours per week) of your working hours completing off-the-job training. This is protected time and is a requirement for apprenticeship delivery. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills, and behaviours set out in the apprenticeship standard so you can achieve occupational competence.

Work Pattern:

37.5 hours per week to be worked from Monday to Friday. Exact start and finish times are to be agreed with the Line Manager. Some of these hours will be allocated to off-the-job training as part of your Apprenticeship Programme.

Skills and Attributes:

Essential:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and priorities effectively.
  • Clear and confident in conveying information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Capable of identifying issues and developing practical solutions quickly.
  • Ensures accuracy and quality in planning, documentation, and delivery.
  • Works well with diverse teams to achieve shared project goals.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of energy management.
  • Confident in building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Comfortable with change and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent. Plus 112 UCAS Points, or T Level (Merit) in Construction: Surveying and Planning, BTEC Extended Diploma, or a relevant Level 3 apprenticeship.

Previous Experience Required:

No pre-requisite experience required.
