Power up your career with a hands-on engineering role in critical infrastructure. We’re looking for a Commissioning Service Engineer to join our team in Scotland, working on HV/LV switchgear, transformers, and electrical distribution systems across the UK and overseas. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a field-based, problem-solving environment, enjoys variety in their work, and wants to develop expertise in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault diagnosis. What You’ll Do:

  • Install, commission, and maintain switchgear, transformers, and related equipment (400V–33kV).
  • Perform testing and diagnostics, including Partial Discharge, thermal imaging, and oil sampling.
  • Lead on-site activities, supervising teams and coordinating with project managers.
  • Work flexibly, including travel across the UK and internationally, as part of a 24/7 on-call rota.
  • Produce reports and documentation to ensure high standards of work completion.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with electrical distribution systems, switchgear, or transformers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of HV/LV systems and electrical safety regulations.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly, including some overseas assignments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to supervise teams on-site.
