Supply Chain Intern (12 months) - Starting Summer 2027

Summary:
This internship will focus on supporting the New Product Development Supply Chain process by mapping the current workflow and identifying opportunities for improvement by the end of the placement. Throughout the internship, support for function-specific activities will also be required to develop a practical understanding of key bottlenecks.
Responsibilities:
- Map the end-to-end New Product Development Supply Chain process, from initial concept through product launch.
- Engage with key stakeholders across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Purchasing, Logistics, and Planning.
- Collect and analyze process data, lead times, hand-offs, risks, and recurring delays. Identify bottlenecks, duplication, unclear ownership, and gaps in communication or governance.
- Support function-specific operational tasks to build practical understanding of the process.
- Assist with supplier onboarding, RFQs, purchase orders, material tracking, risk reviews, and readiness activities.
- Maintain action trackers and follow up with owners on agreed actions and due dates.
- Develop and present improvement recommendations to the relevant stakeholders.
- Current-state NPD Supply Chain process map.
- Stakeholder and responsibility matrix, such as a RACI.
- Summary of key bottlenecks, root causes, and process risks.
- Prioritized improvement opportunity register, including impact and implementation effort.
- Proposed future-state process map.
- Recommended KPIs or dashboard measures for monitoring NPD Supply Chain performance.
- Practical improvement implemented or piloted during the internship, where feasible.
- Final presentation summarizing findings, recommendations, expected benefits, owners, and next steps.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Studying Bachelors or Masters in Supply Chain Management Logistics and Operations Management Procurement or Purchasing
- trong Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills, with the ability to map processes, interpret operational data, and identify improvement opportunities.
- A basic understanding of supply chain processes, New Product Development, project management, and root-cause analysis is required.
- Experience with ERP systems, process-mapping tools, Power BI, or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies would be advantageous
