Overview
In this Service Technician role, you will perform planned preventative maintenance on lift/escalator equipment across the Midlands and South West, with minor repairs and component replacements. You’ll diagnose faults, verify safe, correct operation, and conduct site surveys to keep installations running smoothly. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to uphold safety, quality, and industry standards while contributing to Schindler’s mission to elevate urban life. This position offers hands-on technical work, regional travel, and opportunities to impact reliability and safety at scale.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment and minor repairs per approved procedures
- Rectify faults during breakdowns and verify correct functioning
- Inspect and adjust lift/escalator performance (speed, motor, weight, noise, temperature, power) using company tools
- Conduct routine inspections and reinstatement with documentation
- Execute advanced fault finding and diagnostics to restore service
- Conduct site surveys
Key requirements
- Experience in lift/escalator servicing/maintenance/repairs (preferred)
- NVQ level 3 minimum in lift/escalator maintenance or equivalent
- Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Experience leading projects and teams
- Full UK driving license
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Independent working style with flexibility
- Good communication and administration skills
- Manual dexterity and use of hand/power tools
