We are looking to recruit for a Lift Service Engineer to work as part of the local team based in London, supporting our customer communications and the management team. The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms on portfolio lift equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, etc).
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift equipment in cases of breakdown and confirm correct functioning.
  • Conduct checks of speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using approved company-issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Carry out the routine inspection, adjustment, and reinstatement of escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures, and complete service documentation.
  • Perform fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment to restore equipment to service.
  • Make effective use of written or graphical information.
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and operate efficiently.
  • Work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Communicate effectively at different levels (client, service leader, inspectors).
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity involving repetitive lifting and operation of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 minimum in Escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand equipment.
  • Experience in escalator servicing, maintenance, and repairs preferred.
  • Advanced problem‑solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Good communication skills at different levels.
  • Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
